Subject: Mop sink replacement
We were contacted by a commercial company to replace their mop sink. When we got onsite to estimate the project, we found that the sink didn’t drain well, the tile was falling off the wall, and the drywall was saturated with water.
We told them that was no problem and got to work.
We removed all the tile and drywall in the area. We found some mold growth. We got everything cleaned up and then removed the sink. We then proceeded to get the drain cleared and then reinstalled the sink. To remove the sink, we had to remove the tile holding the sink in place. Since we did not want to reinstall the tile since the store was planning on removing the tile before to long, we went back with a cement section.
Once we reinstalled the drywall, we covered everything with a waterproof wall covering and sealed the joints with a silicone sealant.
As you can see the sink sits in a cement section to prevent the employees banging things into the sink and hopefully prolonging the life of this one.
We were able to complete this job in one day without disturbing the operation of the business. That is what we call a successful repair.
