We were contacted by this business to do radon testing and then a subsequent radon mitigation when a high radon level was discovered. We determined a sub slab depressurization system with suction drawn from the sump pit was the best course of action.
We started with covering the sump pit with a custom-made cover. We left access to remove a sump pump without having to remove the hole cover. The cover is approximately 40” in diameter.
We were then able to route the 3” PVC through the floor trusses to make our way to an exterior wall.
From there we installed the high-powered fan on the exterior with all the other utilities. We finished the system with a pipe run routing above the roof to conform with state discharge codes.
This system was installed in approximately 6 hours and had 2 sub-contractors on site. The customer was pleased with the results and happy we were able to mitigate the entire structure with one pipe run and one fan.
